Old business:

Alice G’s Brave Soul’s Dive in Chautauqua Lake, at Prendergast Point, was also a success with 12 people attending and 9 divers in the water. Chip C’s Champaign Party afterwards was also a success.

Alice was concerned that she is not receiving the newsletters; Mark stated she is on the mailing list, and he will follow-up to verify she is receiving future newsletters. Sandy and Mark are working on an updated roster for distribution.

New business:

We wish to welcome guests, there are two prospective members and two old time members present here tonight. Jeff Walter and Melissa Macleod are interested in our club. Leonard Brooks (Brogowski) and Arthur Weston (Witakowski) were members when the club was meeting on Bailey near Kensington. They donated a couple vintage B&W photos, a pre-NYSDA Empire Diving Association metal auto emblem, and an old BAC jacket patch. A vintage hand-made wet suit was also brought in for display and they shared many old time stories about the early club. We wish to thank and acknowledge these guests present here tonight! Richard Becht suggested that with dive season here, the Oxygen administration units should be readily available for emergencies. Michael will ensure that Gary N. receives one and a second be located in the boat dock locker for the boat dives. The oxygen bags are maintained and are ready to go!

Alice inquired on how to load photos onto the BAC Website. Our Web master is Rick Peters, photos can be submitted to him at 1scuber@roadrunner.com

On a related note, Linda Grant is scanning her late husband, Ray’s dive photos onto a disc for our use, Gary is scanning the old newsletters onto disc, and Pat Farrell will be contacted to inquire if we can have copies of his older club newsletters and photos.

Chip inquired on a Safety & Education Issue, What are our opinions towards dive shops training and certifying students in open water, advanced open water, wreck, and river courses one after another, before the students have any open water experience?
